DATE: Victorian, c.1890
An exceptional antique gold bangle, currently home to two cute charms. One is a diamond and opal set gold medallion adorned with a question mark and the enamelled words: "PEUT ETRE" meaning Maybe. The second is a daisy spinner charm, the bottom detaches from the bangle and can be spun (see our latest story...) - each side has a different French possibility: he loves me, a little, a lot, passionately, not at all. The bangle itself is modelled in 15 karat gold, and the piece dates from circa 1890.
